We have been actively developing and building machines and process lines for the vegetable processing industry since 1986. We've come a long way since building our first steam peeler in 1990 and first wash line in 1995, and 2016 saw the development of our first colour sorter designed specifically for frozen vegetables.
Having become increasingly involved with added value processing, we have been involved with complete chilled environment handling and process systems as well as extrusion, coating and cutting systems for a variety of products. Individual Polar Systems intake systems can handle up to 50 tonnes per hour and are designed specifically to suit both your current and future needs. Systems are designed to a process specification and made to cater for extended run periods before clean down and maintenance. What’s more, they’re simple and efficient to use, clean and maintain, often reducing fork-lift truck movements.

By utilising efficient design, 3D modeling and the latest technologies, we have been able to develop machines that handle large quantities of product in the most gentle way, reducing damage to your product. The Polar Systems root crop wash system benefits from several innovations, including a punched and dimpled barrel which helps prevent foreign objects from becoming lodged and damaging product, and an integral conical end reducing product damage during infeed. Studies in water movement within the system have also allowed us to maximise flow around the whole tank, minimising areas where debris can settle, reducing the build-up of soil and clean down demands.
We have an option to suit your budget and scale of production, reaching up to 50 tonnes per hour through a single washer. Our washers are available with integrated de-stoners, sludge removal, floating object removal and other product enhancements.
Our range of de-stoners include a vertical auger lift type, a cyclone variant and an integrated inline type attached to a wash plant All our de-stoners are available for a range of product capacities.
We offer a range of drying solutions to complement our washers and de-stoners, including sponge rollers and air systems. Our systems are designed to offer you efficiency and lower maintenance and our dryers, as with all Polar Systems’ machines, are built to the highest standards and are suitable for hygienic production environments.
Whatever your exact production needs, we offer a suitable peeler for a wide range of root crops and sizes. With a peeler range including knife, brush and carborundum, or combination, all of our machines are available with complete handling washing and destoning systems, including clean-in-place for simple and efficient use.
